María José Munita
Design Practice

I’m María José, a brand designer from Santiago, Chile. I work globally with brands, creative studios, and people on visual communication and identity projects.

My approach to design is relational and narrative, guided by curiosity and discovery. Each project finds its own voice by exploring and connecting findings, which I organize and develop through narratives. I like understanding how things relate to one another and how, by connecting them, they come together as a meaningful whole.

I collaborate openly with people across disciplines and contexts, bringing an outside perspective to uncover what makes each project unique and to find the clearest way to express it. Together, we find new ways of seeing and thinking.

BackgroundI began my career in the corporate world, working with brands and organisations of different scales and across industries. This gave me a strategic and rigorous foundation, as well as the ability to move between very different contexts. As art director at La Fête Chocolat, a renowned chilean chocolatier, for four years, I built a brand experience through an integrated and aesthetic approach. Since then, I have collaborated with brands in Chile, Spain, Mexico, Argentina, and the Middle East, including:

Raffles Hotels, LATAM Airlines Group, La Fête Chocolat, Marca Chile, Itaú, Claro, Jumbo, Costanera Center, Alto Las Condes, Sodimac, Freeport-McMoRan, Collahuasi, ENAP, Derco, Abastible, Dictuc, Pollini, Consalud, Ingeniería UC, Universidad del Desarrollo, MEGA, Expo Shanghai, Viña Concha y Toro, Familia Torres, Viña San Pedro, Viña Cousiño Macul, Fresita Sparkling Wine, Viña Casal de Gorchs, Fuenquesada Virgen Extra, Quincho BBQ, Blanes Urigoitia Arquitectura, Estudio Gorda, Estudio COMO, Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos, Pan Mostacho, Factoría Franklin, Fairwork, SinergicChem, Diagnosis Biotech, Crítica, NewCapital, Editorial Roneo, among others.
